Memorial

Charlotte Ann Bonaventure, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, March 18, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Memorial Service: 11:00 am Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Inurnment: 2:30 pm at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshalltown.

Charlotte was born December 6, 1934, the daughter of Millard and Ida (Diehl) Smith in Marshalltown. She graduated from the Iowa Teacher’s College where she earned her degree in teaching. Charlotte worked as a teacher in the Cedar Rapids area for forty-three years, before retiring in 1998. She was a member of Noelridge Christian Church, and was very active in Theatre Cedar Rapids. Charlotte also enjoyed volunteering and working at Brucemore Mansion. 

Survivors include her two children, Ann (Fulvio) Zanette, Robert Bonaventure; sister, Jean Whitmore; niece, Jackie Gray; and two nephews, Nick Whitmore, and Rod Whitmore. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.
