Lorrine Agnes Hoggard Rieger, 94, formerly of Marion, passed away Sunday July 24, 2016 at Hallmark Care Center, Mt Vernon. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, 4200 1st Avenue NE, Cedar Rapids.  Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation begins at 10:00 a.m.

Lorrine was born February 20, 1922 near Portsmouth, Iowa, the daughter of William and Verna (Hall) Hoggard. She attended school near Portsmouth. The family moved to Lisbon in 1934. She attended Spring Creek County School, graduating from Lisbon High School on 1941. 

Lorrine worked at Collins Radio from 1942-1945. Eugene Rieger returned from Europe, World War II. They were married on October 20, 1945 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They were blessed to have celebrated 65 ½ years of marriage. Lorraine attended the Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Clear Creek Saddle Club, where she enjoyed riding her favorite horse, “Copper Lad”. She loved gardening and spending winters in Arizona. 

Surviving Lorrine are her sisters; Vernelle (Charles) Willming of Keizer, Oregon, Millicent (Richard) Zenishek of Mechanicsville, Iowa, and Wiladene (Edward) Willming of San Antonia, Texas. Also surviving are nieces and nephews and many cousins in England. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene in 2011, and her parents.

The family would like to thank Hallmark Care Center and Hospice of Amana for the wonderful care they provided Lorrine.
