Wayne A. Lewis, 90, of Marion, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2016.

A funeral service will be held at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church on 42nd Street on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 11am.  Visitation will be Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 5-7pm at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Private burial following the service at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.  American Legion Post #298 will be presenting military rites at the funeral service.

Wayne was born on March 10, 1925 in Omaha, NE to Charles and Minerva (Kelly) Lewis.  After graduating from High School, Wayne served in World War II in the United States Navy.  After returning home from the war he got his bachelor’s degree from Nebraska University.  On June 18, 1950 he was united in marriage to Virginia Stenson in Hardy, Nebraska.  Wayne was an Insurance Claim Representative for many years with American States insurance company.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia Lewis; his three daughters, Ann (Bruce) Erickson of Sandy, Utah, Denise (Scot) Osborne of Tucson, AZ, and June (Kent) Reeves of Marion, IA; 6 grandchildren;  9 great-grandchildren; and one sister Eleen Loch of Omaha, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Iris Rasmussen.
