Memorial

Donna M. (Fuessley) Northrup, 80, of Hiawatha, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

A memorial service celebrating Donna’s life will be held 4:00 pm Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home with Cedar Memorial Certified Celebrant Jim Parton officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00-4:00 pm at the funeral home.

Survivors include her children, Vicki (Nikos) Nikolaidis of Island of Crete, Greece and Susan (Dean) Jacobson of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Heather (Dave) Stanley, Kyle Raddatz, Trent Raddatz, Alex Jacobson, Kleo Nikolaidis and Natalie Nikolaidis, and two great grandchildren, Tyler and Kurtis Stanley; daughter-in-law, Vicki Fuessley; and her beloved poodle, Penny.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Jeanette Krouse and her son, Kurt Fuessley.

Donna was born March 14, 1935, the daughter of Julian and Daisy (Hentschel) Northrup. She graduated from the Young School of Beauty Culture in 1964. Donna owned and operated a beauty salon in Alburnett and in her home outside of Troy Mills for many years. She was a talented seamstress and crafter, participating in many craft shows over the years, and also enjoyed baking, cake decorating, reading and spending time with her family, friends, and little companion, Penny. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
