Lillie was born December 14, 1926 in Cedar Rapids. She married Walter Knoebel, the love of her life, on August 9, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri. Lillie worked for many different retailers in downtown Cedar Rapids as a clerk in many different departments and also modeled at Armstrongs. She later worked for Rockwell Collins.
She enjoyed sewing and decorating her home. She loved to do crossword puzzles daily, and enjoyed going shopping. In her younger years she enjoyed riding horses with her husband. Lillie and Walt enjoyed going out to eat together. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Later in life, she enjoyed learning from the Bible and looked forward to the message of hope.
Lillie wished that there be no memorial or visitation services; rather, she would like everyone to memorialize her by their fond memories.
The family would like to thank the staff of Evergreen Estates and Mercy Hospital Third Floor for their love, care, and compassion. They would also like to extend a warm and heartfelt acknowledgment to the staff of Hospice who brought Lillie comfort.
