Marvin F. Ellwood, 95, of Marion, died Friday, March 6, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Sunday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.

Survivors include his son, Jay (Mary) Ellwood of Bonaire, GA; Son-in-law, Tom Pollard of Marion; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; Brother, Dwayne Ellwood of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois, daughter Suzanne Pollard, brother Ralph Ellwood and sister Beryl Hardy.

Marvin Frank Ellwood was born May 3, 1919 in rural Linn County, the son of Frank and Luana (Minehart) Ellwood. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII.
On October 23, 1946 he married Lois Burnside at Nashua, Iowa. She died in 2005.

Memorial donations may be given in his name to the First United Methodist Church, Marion.
