Myrtle Millie Smith, a resident of Keystone Place in Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at 10:30am at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 prior to the service.  Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Myrtle is survived by her son, Lyle (Vicki) of Jewell, IA and her daughter Linda (Doug) Wilson of The Villages, FL and Cedar Rapids, IA; grandchildren, Don (Sherry) Smith of Brandy Station, VA, Tracey Wilson (Patrick) Shelton of Aventura, FL, Stephenie  (K.C. Tupa) of Center Point, IA, and Tim (Anna) Wilson of Robins; great-grandchildren, Maysa, Makhi, Madden, and Mallie Wilson, Kole, Kanon, Easton, and Addyson Tupa; step-great-grandson William Alewine of Richmond, VA; and her brother, Floyd Ondler, of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Merwin Smith; her parents; her sister Lucille; sisters-in-law, Mary Ondler and Hazel Eagan; and brothers-in-law, Henry, Beryl Smith and Donald Eagan.

Myrtle was born on December 20, 1921 to Dewey and Millie (Valenta) Ondler in Troy Mills, IA.  She graduated in 1940 from Walker High School and in 1941 from Cedar Rapids Business College.  She married Merwin Smith on June 23, 1946.  She worked as a Secretary to the Traffic Manager at Wilsons, Collins Credit Union, and retired from the credit department at Sears.  She was a member of Echo Hill Presbyterian Church and a former member of American Business Women.

Myrtle loved being with her family and attending her great-grandchildren’s many activities, camping with Merwin, and was always ready for a good game of cards!
