Betty Lois Larison, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospice in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015 at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, James Larison of Cedar Rapids; children, Dennis (Julie) Larison of Elizabethtown, PA, John (Shawnna) Larison of Marion, Karen Larison of West Branch, Douglas Larison of Cedar Rapids, Kimberly Larison of Cedar Rapids; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, June (Arza) Boswell.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Dee Lee Davidson.

Betty was born February 8, 1928, the daughter of Wendell and Flavia (Hopson) Davidson in Taylor County, IA. Starting at the young age of seventeen, Betty spent two years as a school teacher in a one room school house. On August 14, 1946, she was married to James Larison. Together, James and Betty farmed for thirteen years in southwest Iowa before moving to Cedar Rapids. Betty worked for Century 21 from 1979 to 1983. She was also a sales representative for Avon. Betty loved to sew, play cards and write letters. She was a member of the Eastern Star for over fifty years.
