Donna J. Cromer, 79, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, December 4, 2015 at Keystone Cedars.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Zachary W. Johnson of St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will take place in the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Donna was born December 26, 1935 in Pender, Nebraska to Carl and Martha (Stalling) Vollers. She was united in marriage to Lugene W. “Gene” Cromer on July 15, 1956. To this union, two children were born.
Donna worked as a secretary at Physician’s Mutual from 1979 until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed knitting, crafts, gardening, and NASCAR. Donna will be missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her children Kent (Kim) Cromer and Kara (Kelly) Leyse, both of Marion; granddaughter Madalyn Leyse of Marion; step-grandchildren Wayne Canterbury and Diane (Jason) Bible, both of Marion; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gene in 2013; brothers John, Jordan, Carl Jr., and Dell Vollers; and sisters Verna VanKley, Carol Harris, and Joan Vollers.
A memorial has been established in Donna’s name.
