Patricia ”Pat” L. Kent, 76, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on Wednesday, April 29, 2015.
A memorial service celebrating Pat’s life will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Rick Gail officiating. Inurnment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-5 pm Sunday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; Sons, Steve (Donna) Kent of Cedar Rapids and David (Debra) Kent of Center Point; grandchildren, Scott (Kerri) Kent of Dubuque, Dan (Diana) Kent of Cedar Rapids, Mitchell Kent of Iowa City; 6 great grandchildren, Elijah, Levi, Libby, Evianna, Kiersten, Caleb; Sister, Elsie Ann Kloubec of Cedar Rapids; Sister-in-law, Claudine (Harold) Hixson of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Lawrence D. Kloubec.
Patricia Lee Vrba was born December 16, 1938 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of Ludwig and Elsie (Metelak) Vrba. She graduated from the Wilson High School in 1957. On June 15, 1957, she married Robert Kent in Cedar Rapids, IA. Pat worked as a CFS Clerk for the United States Postal Service for many years retiring in 1997. After retirement, Pat worked at the Czech National Museum and Library in the gift shop and was actively involved in three Sr. bowling leagues in Cedar Rapids where she has served as secretary on one of the leagues. In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing the organ, piano and was a talented vocalist/soloist.
Memorials may be given in her name to Hospice of Mercy or Cedar Valley Humane Society, Cedar Rapids.
