Memorial
Joe Driver, 77, of Cedar Rapids died Monday May 12, 2014 at Northbrook Manor after a long illness. Memorial services with military rites at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Inurnment in the Cedar Memorial Chapel Mausoleum columbarium. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday.
Survivors include his wife, Rosetta, three daughters Jackie Driver and Kathy (Michael) Cole all of Cedar Rapids and Rosalyn Driver of Chicago; sons, Joe (Desiree) of Texas and twin sons Donald and Ronald (Tanya) all of Bowling Brook, Illinois; three brothers Charles, George and Tom; and one sister Millie. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents one brother and one sister.
Joe was born on March 27, 1937 in Louise, Mississippi the son of George and Lilly Linear Driver. He married Rosetta Brown on June 28, 1959 in Louise, Mississippi. Joe worked in security at the Chicago Art Institute for several years.
He was a member of the Lion Club, had a 3rd degree black belt in Karate, and proudly served in the Army during the Korean War.
He enjoyed gardening and time spent with his beloved family and friends. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
