John Sullivan

Born in Walker, IA
Born on Jul 6, 1928
Departed on Jan 19, 2014

During my time at Guarnty Bank, I really got to know John quite well. He entertained me with stories and helped me with any of my work needs. John brought his clogging group to our informal wedding reception to the joy of our guests. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing.

I worked with John at Guaranty. After he retired he'd sneak in the back door next to my office to visit. My favorite memory was John wiggling his ears. He is at peace now. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Sara

You will be missed Uncle Johnny! I should have gotten over to see you more. I am sure you will have a fantastic card game with my parents in Heaven.

Gail, I was so sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Cherish the memories that I know you have. Blessings throughout the new year. Cal

Gail and the entire Sullivan family, I am saddened to hear of this great loss. I will forever cherish the fun times I was fortunate to share with your Dad, as a CeMar Clogger. He was funny and full of life, with a fabulous sense of humor! I too remember him wiggling his ears, and his kindness to everyone. He will truly be missed. Grateful he no longer suffers. I am sure there is a party in Heaven! Praying for you at this sad and difficult time. Debbie (Gallagher) and Craig Mrkvicka

Sullivan Family- Bev & Bob knew John from the St Jude Parish. We send our Heartfelt Thoughts with our Prayers to the family. He was a good guy and know you will miss him. God grant him eternal rest. God Bless your Family Bob & Bev Hanson

So sorry for your lost. John was a such a good and kind person. He was always thinking of others. I remember John from when I worked at Guaranty Bank. On days that it would snow a lot, I would go out to my car and find that someone had brushed all the snow off:) Not just my car but other employees as well. That was not his job to do, but that was just the kind of person he was. When I tried to thank him, he would just wave his hand and walk away. Like it was nothing. A very humble person. Janis

My deepest sympathies to the entire Sullivan Family, especially His wife Joanne. i would dearly love to be there for the services and mass however a total knee replacement has me confined to home. John and I worked together at Hawkeye Motor Express many years ago. He was a great person and i always enjoyed running into him at Mass etc. Please accept our deepest sympathies and know that I am praying for John and family.

I live in the Kenwood area and got acquainted with John when he was a cross guard for the school. He loved the kids....they loved him. He was a kind man. I would walk my dog and we would have daily chats. Im Glad I HAD the chance to know such a nice gentlemen.

John was a wonderful person and will be missed. My best wishes to his family, relatives and friends.

I met John at Immaculate Conception Church several years back when we were both attending the 12:05 daily mass. What a kind and considerate gentleman and always with a funny story to share. He truly loved and talked about his family on many occasions. My heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Lynne Hanlon

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know John hasn't been well, but losing a loved one is never easy. John was a good man, and the world is a little less nice with him gone. Your entire family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Gary, I'm so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I remember his sense of humor from when we worked at Guaranty Bank. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Tracy

I was the principal at Kenwood and I hired John to be the crossing guard. John's time at Kenwood was small compared to other aspects of his life but even in his short time here, he had a positive impact on children. He was a conscientious, hard worker and a extraordinary person. He was very concerned about the safety of all the students he crossed and the students knew he cared about them and they liked him a lot. I enjoyed payday Fridays when he stopped in to get his check. His visits always brightened my day.
