Memorial
Gordon L. Trimble, 76, of Marion died Wednesday January 8, 2014 at Willow Gardens after a short illness. Memorial services at 11:00 AM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra, one daughter Julie (Randy) Wright of Omaha, Nebraska; two sons David (Anita) of Dallas, Texas and John (Amy) of Cedar Rapids; two sisters Sharon (Marv) Herman of Brooklyn and Joyce Reynolds of Ames. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a sister-in-law Joyce Wall of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother James and a grandson Justin.
Gordon was born on October 23, 1937 in Cedar Rapids the son of John and Genevieve Jakubec Trimble. He married Sandra M. Umsted on October 21, 1960 in Cedar Rapids.
Gordon worked for Cartier Jewelers in the shipping dept. and retired from there after many years of service. Most recently he worked part-time at Gordmans.
Gordon proudly served in the Air Force and was an avid fisherman, both in Iowa and Texas. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially the time he spent with his beloved family. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
