Shirley & Dunlap family: I am so sorry for your loss. Dean was a great co-worker and friend. I remember walking through requisitions and being scared until I realized he was just a teddy bear. I'll miss seeing him at Xavier's.
We'll see you tomorrow.

I enjoyed working with Dean at Kirkwood, especially during the accreditation process. He met with me and approved the Toastmasters club, Kirkwood Keynotes. When he played Santa Claus, he not only fit the costume but also the role, as a gentle and caring man. My sincere sympathy to you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I will keep your family in my prayers. Regars, Lee Belfield

Dearest Shirley,

Shirley and Dunlap family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

How sad I am to hear of Dean's death. He was a wonderful guy to work with at Kirkwood. Dean was always a moderating presence, and was truly interested in everything that was happening at the college. I personally will miss his sense of humor.

I'll bet they have red chairs in heaven Dean!

Shirley,

We are so sorry to hear of Dean's passing. We will never forget his smile. Let us know if you need anything.

Dunlap Family and Shirley,

Sorry to hear about Dean. He was a good person and a friend. We enjoyed some great times together over the years. He was one of the key people to help develop Kirkwood into an outstanding institution.

He will be missed by many.

We send our deepest sympathies to Dean's family and to Shirley. Our hearts are so sad. Dean was a wonderful colleague and a loving and generous friend.

Dean and Shirley spent many vacations and cruises with us over the decades. During those times, Dean always shared with love and pride the many stories of his family. We'll miss Dean--especially his positive outlook, his powerful laugh, and his faithful friendship.

Although our travels in the Atlantic prevent our attending his service, we will be remembering in prayer Dean's family and Shirley.

You have our deepest sympathies. Dean was a very respected man in our community and what a great family man. He will be remembered for his wonderful demeanor , kindness and generosity. Dean will be dearly missed.

I am truly sorry for your loss. Dean was a good guy with a great sense of humor. He was also a hard worker. I remember meeting with him when I was on the Meet and Confer committee and he was always prepared and willing to talk with us. I was always impressed, too, each year when he played Santa Clause. Even though he was roasting in the Costume he seemed to enjoy his role and talking with the kids. My prayers are with your entire family during your time of loss and grief. God bless you.

Dear Dunlap Family,
Dean's parents and my parents were life-long neighbors and friends. Dean, Doug and I grew up together, playing baseball and other childhood games in my big backyard. I'm so happy we were able to reconnect at Chet's funeral. God bless you all with His peace and comfort.

Doug, Sandy and family,
Sorry to hear of your loss. I know Dean was a great brother and uncle and he will be dearly missed by all of you. You have my deepest sympthies.

So sorry to hear of your loss, Shirley and the Dunlap family. Dean will always be in my heart as a dear friend and close colleague as we worked and played at Kirkwood over 30 years. We had so many wonderful times and the memories are safely carried within me. My thoughts are with you. I am a gardener now, and I'm already planning his memorial piece to be added to my garden this spring. Just thinking of it brings me comfort, and I hope will bring some comfort to you.

Shirley, Doug & Family,
I was totally shocked when Mom called and said Dean, our "Dunnie" had died. We have many memories of Dean. Dad met him when they worked at Downing Box. He became like an Uncle over the years. It was great when he started working at the Prison, worked with Mom.. I loved his booming laugh there,it echoed.
He always said as a kid, all I ever did was bawl.
My brother Kelly gave him the Dunnie nickname. I hope they found each other in Heaven...and Yes, I'm 'bawling'& he's laughing. The way I'll remember him. INSERT INTO guestbook VALUES (but he's the tall black haired guy, home from Hawaii)

I will certainly miss him. Art Goodale

You've been gone almost 3 years & tonight you pop into my head. This time I'm somewhere without being laughed at or dared....first, I turned 60! My 'kid', you'd be proud of. An Executive Head Chef at your type restaurant. (High dollar) No Dunnie to push him thru Culinary. Blood, sweat & tears...just a tutor at Lake Ozark for 10 yrs. You'd be proud. His Mom, wheels about in a wheelchair the Anamosa Care Center. Across the street from 'Our house'. Built by Weiner, Dunlap & that crying kid. I think of you & Dad a lot when they let me out...still the same color. Miss Ya. Renee
