DaVon Bean

Born in Cedar Rapids, IA
Born on Feb 15, 1996
Departed on Oct 26, 2013

DaVon was such a neat young man. We always appreciated the fact that he took time to befriend our son, even though DaVon was older. We were always impressed with how respectful he was. If we were outside working, he was always there with a smile a story. He made us laugh many times. We would sit inside and listen to him playing basketball with our son in the driveway and laugh at them trying to "trash-talk" each other. DaVon had a heart of gold, and he will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.

I am so sorry...a life lost way too soon. Please know that you have tons of people that care about you and will be here for you, now and in the days ahead. I know that your faith and strength will help see you through this. With a heavy heart, I will be praying for and thinking about you all. Much love~

DaVon had a beautiful spirit and warm heart. The pain of his loss is being shared by many.

DaVon was a great kid and it pains me to hear of his passing. He and my kids JT & Katelyn went to school together at Harding Middle School. We also lived by you guy's on 48th St. Your Memory will be forever in our prayers DaVon and your Family too.

Thoughts and condolences to the Bean Family from your neighbors, Lance, Nicole, Hannah, and Nadean Wilson. If you need any help with anything, please let us know.

DaVon always made me laugh and I always looked forward to his visits! From making pizza to jumping on the trampoline we had a great time!
I will miss him and he is always in my prayers!
Cousins Rock!!!!!!!

DaVon gave me lots of great memories. We played the piano together, competed at ping pong INSERT INTO guestbook VALUES (he won every time) and he loved to tell stories about his brother. He loved HoneyBuns and was really good at practical jokes.
I think he was really smart and a great artist and was my favorite cousin. I will miss him!
Parcore!!!

I remember all the times that DaVon would visit and we would go up to the pond and roast marshmallows and have campfires. He was fun to hang out with and I will miss him alot!!!

I like DaVon! :)

There is nothing worse than the loss of a child. Our hearts ache for your family. I wish there was something I can say or do to ease your pain, but I know there is nothing. We pray for your peace and comfort. I know DaVon has earned the most beautiful wings imaginable. Find strength in each other & in the Lord. Please accept our heartfelt condolences from our family to yours. So sorry Jessie, Deanna, & Jamison. Love to all~~

Deanna and Family - I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My heart and thoughts are with you.

My prayers are with you, Jesse & Deanna! DaVon was a part of our family and we are thankful for the short time that God blessed us with his presence! He will be greatly missed but we have the hope that he is resting in Jesus' Sacred Heart!!! May the Blessed Mother wrap her mantle of protection around you and may God fill you with the peace and grace to take each moment by moment, step by step and day by day.
I love you!

DaVon was in my computer graphics class at Kennedy High School. He was always willing to talk to me about anything. Though his life wasn't easy he was always upbeat and had a smile on his face. He will be missed.
Mr. Schmuecker

Jamison and Familoy~
I am so very sorry about the tragedy that has struck your family. Please know that I have been praying for you all and will continue to do so in the days, weeks and months ahead. May you draw strength from each other and in the memories that you have.

Thinking of you all,
Mrs. SE

I feel there are no words that will help, just know that we are all here for you no matter what. May DaVon rest in paradise and may his family and friends find some comfort in the prayers and kind words of us all.

Again my deepest condolences to your family. The loss of a child is never easy no matter how old they may be. Be kind to yourselves and give yourself the time to grieve and one of the most important things to know is that there are alot of people that are here for you and would love to help you no matter how big or small of request. I am one of those people. I pray that you will be comforted with your wonderful memories and that will ease your pain and help you get through this part of your lives. Just remember one minute, one hour and one day at a time. So sorry for your loss.

Jessie,Deanna & Jamison
So sorry to hear about DaVon. Our hearts go out to all of you at this time. DaVon was a very sweet guy and we will miss seeing him smile. Also to Jeannie - so sorry for your loss of such a wonderful grandson. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. RIP DaVon you are safe in Gods hands

Alot of good memories involved DaVon. Everytime we had DaVon over there was always something different that we would do. From having pillow fights in the attic, playing axis and allies board game late into the night, watching movies, being rolled up in blankets while DaVon sat on me, playing ping pong with the undefeated champion INSERT INTO guestbook VALUES (DaVon) throwing firecrackers off the bridge into the creek at one of our neighbor's house, throwing firecrackers at Christian while he was in the creek, going coning at mcdonalds, giving hugs to everybody that came up the stairs to youth group, to me earning the nickname "horse demon" for coughing while i was laughing making the sound a horse makes. DaVon was the greatest cousin anybody could ask for, making everybody laugh.

Deanna, you did my hair for Jorie Klostermann's wedding. I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss; it's unimaginable. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts. If there's anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask.

I was a classmate of DaVons over the years, not too close but I'd consider him more a friend than a mere acquaintance. He was an honest, kind, funny, sensitive, and overall wonderful person. It was saddening to notice that his personality would too often go unappreciated in the school setting when he was really a very creative and promising individual. Davon was an exceptional young man for the cards he was dealt in life and I'm terribly sorry for the loss. My deepest sympathies go out to anyone affected.

Devon,
I will never forget your smile and laughs you gave me in the classroom! You are truly a gifted spirit. Play some baseball in heaven.
Love ya and will miss you!

DaVon,

Remember that a little DaVon goes a long way, so give God a break every once in a while, will ya?Keep your ears open as we will be talking to you.

Jesse and Deanna,

Believe it or not,God does has a plan and he will carry you both through this. Thanks for sharing DaVon with us all those years.

Uncle Mike

Late nights, games and lots of movies are my memories of DaVon. I will miss him and his jokes!

Davon was a fun cousin who made me laugh!
I love him!!!

DaVon was a great friend to my step-grandson Mitchell. He was sweet and kind to me when I visited with the two of them. I am sure the pain of losing him is too huge for words to ease. My sympathy goes out to all his family and friends.

It's the little things, the small, everyday occurrences that you'll remember. The laughs, the stories, the smiles. And even though it seems like you can never recover from your loss, it is these very memories that will help push the pain away and bring back the smiles, his memory will live on forever

DaVon was my closest cousin. I enjoy reemembering all the nights we would stay up playing games, teasing my brothers, and chaotic pillow fights. I will always remember the first night he spent at our house. None of us could believe in his seemingly endless energy. He had an incredible sense of humor. He could make us laugh at almost anything. He was like a brother to me. He fit in with us and pitched in with the work. He was an incredible artist. I loved him like a brother and will miss him. Jeshua Smith

Ping Pong, pillow fights and Simpsons are some of my favorite memories of DaVon! He was awesome to hang out with and he was one of the gang! I will miss him very much. He was a great cousin!!!

I am greatly saddened to hear of DaVon's passing. I always enjoyed his spirit and energy when working with him in winter Cougar baseball workouts while he played Jr. Cougar baseball.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.

Dear Deanna, Jesse, and Jamison,

I was devastated to learn about DaVon. I am so very sorry! My heart goes out to you and your family.

im not sure if you will read this but this is something that i need to say. so i hope that you do. i didnt know davon for long only a few short months, and it was a crappy place to meet (op) but having davon im my life for that short while was better than not having him in my life at all. davon won all of us at kenyon over very fast. it wasent long before davon was one of my very close friends there. davon helped me get through alot of days that i thought i would never get through. he showed me how to be strong and how to belive in myself. he was my rock, and he was the last one out of all of us that would do something like this. the day they told us that davon died, i felt something inside of me break, he took a peace of my heart with him when he went away. and even though you knew davon alot more than i or any of us at kenyon did. i can still say that davon was a one of a kind person. there will never be another davon, and i miss him like crazy. i mean it still hurts its gonna hurt for a long time. but in the end you know its not goodbye its just see you later because someday i and everyone else too will have our wings. so i just want to thank you for sharing davon with us. he made many dark days lighter just with his smile. because somedays without him i dont know how i would have survived. and we can use davon as a lesson to others sometimes even the strongest people have their moments where they are there weakest.

well where do i start. knowing DaVon was fun and i never thought that i would never loose him. I met him in Orchard Place Residential facility. it was my 2nd time in treatment at o.p I got to know him for at least a short time. I remember hearing him say to me that he would much rather be with his girl friend then be here. He told me what he thought of me and that made me think of him as a brother. DaVon meant a great a great deal to me and i loved him like brother. when Karen Cordes his therapist said that DaVon had made a terrible choice by ending his life. i said that i wanted to join him and and be resting in a box with him. I'm still not over this and i still don't know what to think of him being gone forever. i miss him dearly and i still love him like a brother. and will always love him forever. i will never forget him and the good times we had on the walks to and from kenyon house o.p. i wish i could have gone to his funeral and that i could of seen him for the last time, dead or alive. i hope his parents know that i have a lot of sympathy for them and i will love him forever you will be missed DaVon and i love you man. most nights i still cry my self to sleep because i miss him and i know will continue to miss him forever. i miss you brother!...

I've never fully grieved losing you. I remember being in foundation 2 with you. The maximum stay was usually 2 weeks since it is a temporary YES. Me, you and Crystal would always have a blast. With her as our third wheel. We were such crazy kids, mostly me. You were many things to me, mostly the light in such a dark place. Many days I wish I ended my life back then, for some reason nothing has allowed that to happen. I used to carry a golden token to represent your Guardianship, you must be my ANGEL. Holly if you see this...contact me.

Life is just not the same without you. I hope your in paradise, down here it’s just dark.

I have had so many chances to post here but honestly couldn’t come up with the words….. I knew Davon in foundation 2 but didn’t really become friends with him until we both were in orchard place. I have so many good memories with him from there but it is still painful to think about it. He always lit up every single room he went into and even though he was struggling he would always make everyone laugh and smile around him. He was so talented and creative and I loved reading his poetry. ???? He will always have a special place in my heart. He was a great friend and i pray that he is at peace. I was heartbroken when I couldn’t come to his funeral but I know he was with all of us anyways.

I became friends with DaVon through Mitch while we were entering our freshman year at Kennedy. He was a great friend, and I loved spending the time with him that I had before I ended up moving away, and losing touch. I didn't end up finding out until Senor year about what happened and I was truly heartbroken because I found out I lost someone I considered a great friend. I've never forgotten him, and he's someone I don't think I'll ever forget. I'm sorry this took so long to finally be said, and I'm sorry you guys lost DaVon. He was a one of a kind person, and a beautiful soul.
