Beulah Reed Odekirk Falck, 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went to be with her Lord and Savior on  Tuesday, November 19, 2013  in her home, with her children by her side.  She was born on October 29, 1933, in rural Aurora the daughter of George and Donna (Pieplow) Reed.  Beulah was raised in the area, and attended Stanley School, Donnan School near Randalia, and Randalia High School.  She  was a 1951 graduate of Maynard High School,  and then attended Upper Iowa University.

On September 8, 1951, Beulah was united in marriage to Kieron  Odekirk at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado.  Together, while Kieron was in the Air Force, they were “travelers” for four years and then settled in Cedar Rapids.  Beulah was a homemaker and was employed in retail.  After her husband’s death she furthered her education at Kirkwood and then taught for 11 years at Share and Care Preschool.  Beulah was married to Gerald “Jerry” Falck on August 21, 2004, at the Union Church, rural Aurora, and together they resided in Cedar Rapids.

Beulah was a longtime member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids for over 50 years where she served on numerous committees.  She loved gardening, canning, fishing, and an occasional trip to the casino.  Each holiday she delivered her famous sugar cookies to her kids and grandkids.  She will be remembered also for her love of the Amish community.

Survivors include her three children, Kent (Gloria) Odekirk of Mesa, Arizona, Debbie (Keith) Phelps of Monticello, and Tina (Ceazar) of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren, Kurtis Odekirk, Katrina (Todd) Roalson,  Robert Odekirk, Jamie (Ron) Chittick,  Marsha (Jon) Otto, Joshua Winkie,  Jacob Winkie, and Jenna Green; nine great-grandchildren, Kandace Odekirk, Alexandria Dake,  Andrew, Dylan, Samantha, and Aubrey Chittick, Jared Curran, Rylee and Jonah Otto;  five step- grandchildren, Donald (Tia) Craig, Samantha Evens (Dee), James Craig, Michelle (Brad) Owens, and Mary Steger;  ten step- great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Brandon Zeadow,  James “J.R.” Craig, Taylor Evens, Rylee, Blair, and Evah Owens,  Jessica and Derrick Steger, and Shelby Randall; her siblings, Betty (Jack) Riley of Galena, Illinois, Bonnie Kastli of Oelwein, Charles (Sandy) Reed of Sumner, Nancy (Gary) Maurer of Independence, Gary (Penny) Reed of Maynard, Eugene (Evie) Reed of Maynard, and Don (Arleta) Vandersee of Fayette;  a brother-in-law, Burton (Dorothea) Odekirk of Fayette; her aunt and uncle, Bob and Esther Reed of Manchester;  Jerry’s three children, Steve Falck of Des Moines, Jodi (Brian) Muller of Manchester, and Richard Falck of Oelwein, and son-in-law,  Dan  (Bonnie O’Brien) Freeman of Independence,  Jerry’s four grandchildren, Jacob Freeman, Morgan, Zachary, and Kaylee Muller; Jerry’s siblings; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Beulah was preceded in death by her two husbands, Kieron Odekirk on September 8, 1988, and Gerald Falck on May 15, 2012; her parents; two siblings, Beverly  Vandersee and Georgia (Harold) Nolting; brother-in-law, 
DuWayne Kastli; and infant step-great-great-grandson, Zane Zeadow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in her honor to the Salvation Army and Wickiup Hill.

Funeral Service:11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Officiating:  Pastor Brad Brown.

Visitation:  3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013, with a time of sharing from  6 to 7:00 p.m. at Cedar Memorial West, Cedar Rapids, Iowa,  and also one hour before the service on Saturday at the church.

Interment:  Palo Cemetery  -  Palo, Iowa.
