Lena Mae Bruce, 101, a resident of Willow Gardens, Marion passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the center. Service will be held on Tuesday, May 28 at 3 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with a visitation beginning at 1 PM. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.Lena was born on July 5, 1911 in Delhi, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Susie Bowers Taylor. She married John W. Bruce on June 28, 1932. He passed away in 1988.Survivors include her children, Melvina Bruce, Betty (Tommy) Tucker and Maria Murphy all of Marion; Alice (Gene) Covington of Clarence; and Martha Scott of West Virginia; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; step mother, Nellie Taylor; 3 brothers, 5 sisters, a half brother; 2 step sisters; 2 step brothers; son-in-law, Tony Murphy; 2 grandsons, David Covington and Dale Scott; 2 great grandsons.Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
