John L. Arjes passed over June 2, 2013 into the loving arms of our Lord after a long and hard fight against cancer. John is at peace and pain free. Celebration of Life: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Shueyville Community Center, 2863 - 120th Street NE, Swisher, Iowa.John was sole owner of ARJES Construction for over 30 years. John was a wonderful son, husband, dad, and grandpa/papa and will be so very missed. He lived, laughed and loved with his family which was always his priority in life.John leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years, Sheila McVey Arjes; children, Michelle Arjes Moody, Thomas and Matthew Arjes; three of his greatest joys in life, grandchildren, Skyler Moody, Savannah Arjes, and Jack Arjes; mother, Betty Arjes Johnson; sisters, Shelley (Gary) Gustafson and Patricia (Duane) Goldman; five nieces; three nephews; and many others who loved John and will miss his wit and sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Arjes and second father, Joe B. Johnson.Special heartfelt thanks go to all St. Luke's Hospice nurses and staff, Dr. Warren and staff, and Dr. Bell for helping our family get through this transition.
