John Dolezal Jr.

Born in Cedar Rapids, IA
Born on Jul 18, 1939
Departed on Jul 23, 2012

Very sorry to hear of John's passing. He was a customer of mine at Rockwell before his retirement. I truly enjoyed his stories and humor. He was fair and a very good person to do business with. My condolences to the entire family.

Kathleen:
We met once at John's and my 50th class reunion. As we ate lunch I marveled at comfortable you and John were with each other. Few couples set out to have a comfortable marriage, but none are disappointed when they are fortunate to have one. As John chatted and told any number of stories about the moments we had shared, I was not only reminded that he saw more in everyday life than most of us, and what he saw was retold with humor. He was a great story teller because he cared and paid attention to others. He remembered details of their lives that so often escape others. In those two days of the reunion I was struck by how much he enjoyed people and how much others enjoyed life a little more for being with John. All of us will enjoy life a little less without him, but knowing John, remembering his stories, and his love of life will temper the loss and sustain us. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Best, Pete

Very sorry for you and the family for your loss. We are very sorry we can not attend services as we are in Belgium at Daves.

What a sad day it is to hear of John's passing. He always had a way of making the worst situations a little better. We don't know how he was able to retain all the stories he did but each one he told was more fun to listen to than the first time we heard it. We will never forget some of them. God speed John and please leave us a path to follow. We will miss you

Donnie, John and family,

I have sat here several times trying to write something about John but each time I do a tear forms and I can not finish. He was an amazing man, I always enjoyed our times together, his stories and his teasing. His heart was large and he loved everyone he met. I can not say enough times how much I personally will miss him, I am fortunate to have many wonderful memories of him. He always made me feel like I was a part of the family, and he always asked how my family was, knowing all by name. The world was a better place with John Dolezal and we all will remember that forever. You are all, always in my heart. God Bless you all.

With much love,

Cory and Staci Conrad and Family.

Dear Kathy & family,

My heart is heavy as I try to find words which might provide a bit of comfort for you.

Although I only visited with John a few times about Association business, he made quite a lasting impression on me. What a special, warm and kind person he was!

Before our conversations ended, the talk would always turn to cooking. Like two veteran Iron Chefs, we'd share tips and a favorite recipe or two. What a delight he was.

I am so pleased I had the opportunity to meet John. Heaven is very lucky.

I was so sorry to here of John's passing. I worked for him many years ago, he was one of my farovite bosses. John wanted everyone to work and expected you to do your best, but the best thing about John was he was not afraid to tell you that you were a "Good Worker". Rockwell-Collins is a better place because of him and even though I've been gone from there for eight years they could use more John Dolezal's there. God Bless him and his family. Char Wink

Kathy - I am so sorry. I was looking through the obituaries for something else and ran across Johns. I was out of town at that time last year or I certainly would have contacted you. What a wonderful guy he was and what a great pair you made. What can I say except SORRY. Nancy McCray
