Owen F. Winterberg, 76, a longtime resident of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012 in Ft. Myers, FL.A Funeral Service will be held Friday December 28, 2012 at 10 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church Cedar Rapids by Rev. Thomas E.S. Miller with burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 P.M. Thursday December 27 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Survivors include his fiancé Mardene Marquart, a son Richard Owen Winterberg (Ai Hamada) of Marion, a daughter Lisa Ann (Terry) Tesar of Marion, grandchildren; Scott, Shelby, Skyler and Shane Tesar, Miko and Hero Winterberg. Also surviving is a brother Ferris (Donna) Winterberg of Colleyville, TX.He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Sondra (Sandy).Owen Frank Winterberg was born December 4, 1936 in Dubuque, IA the son of Lee B. and Frances Owen Winterberg. He graduated from Coe College and Wharton School of Business, University of PA. He was vice president of SCI Financial Group/Wells Fargo Bank and spent his last three years with RBC Wealth Management. Owen was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids and Faith Presbyterian Church in Cape Coral, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, Tuesday Noon Optimist Club, past president of Camp Wapsi Y and AOPA. He served with the Army during Vietnam. He loved flying and sailing and taught flying through Winterberg Aviation. He enjoyed hunting and traveling and wintering with Mardene in Florida.
