Patrick Michael Karamitros, 16, of 4272 Fox Meadow Dr. SE, passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5 PM Friday in New Covenant Bible Church, 1800 46th St. NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Pastor Mark Eades will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Thursday in Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Surviving to honor his memory are his parents, Michael and Tamara Karamitros, his sister Katie, his two brothers Alex and Chris, his grandmother Bette Nelson of South Haven, Michigan, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many many friends.

Patrick was born March 21, 1994 in Cedar Rapids to Michael and Tamara (Nelson) Karamitros. He was a junior at Washington High School where he participated on the swim team, baseball team, tennis team, golf team, marching band, and jazz band. He was a member of New Covenant Bible Church. At the church he was a member of the Senior High Worship Team. He was to participate on a mission trip to Mexico that will now be dedicated to him. He was a life guard at Bever Pool where he saved two lives. He had just started working at the Mt. Vernon Rd HyVee. He also mowed lawns, did snow removal, and pet care in his neighborhood.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
