Memorial

Mark L. Coppock, 61, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009, following a sudden illness.
Visitation will take place from 4-8 PM Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private family service and burial will be held. All are welcome to attend a time of fellowship with lunch being served at Mercy Hospital's Hallagan Education Center at 1 PM on Sunday, August 30, 2009.

Mark is survived by his wife, Mary, the love of his life for the past 22 years; sons Kevin (Denise) Doyle of Highlands Ranch, CO and Michael Doyle of Cedar Rapids; daughter Jennie (Kenny) Benke of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Sydney and Madeline Doyle; brother Loren (Patti) Coppock of Cedar Rapids; sisters Marsha (Herb) Plimpton of Hillsborough, CA and Julie (Jim) Stepanek of Cedar Rapids; three nieces and four nephews; parents-in-law Bill (Irene) Casey of Waterloo.

Mark was born December 30, 1947, the son of Helen and the late Melvin Coppock in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from the University of Iowa and Drake Law School. He was associated with Elderkin & Pirnie, PLC for over 30 years, most recently as managing partner. He was a member of the Linn County and Iowa State Bar Associations and the American Academy of Hospital Attorneys.
Mark loved his work, but also found time to enjoy the Iowa Hawkeyes, golf, and time with family. Mark could be found most late afternoons on the golf course with friends. A fun-loving guy, Mark will be greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Mercy Medical Center Foundation.
