Timothy F. Canney 44, of 1503 Maplewood Dr. NE, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at University Hospital in Iowa City, from injuries received in an auto accident August 29, 2008 in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Rev. Dennis Cahill will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Friday with a Vigil service beginning at 7 PM.

Surviving to honor his memory are his wife Lisa, daughter Meghan, parents Don and Gloria Canney of Cedar Rapids, two brothers Kevin Sue Canney of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, and Mike Paulette Canney of Cedar Rapids, father and mother in law Bill and Jan Kuba of Cedar Rapids, grandmother Lovell McGillicuddy of Cedar Rapids, two brother in laws Mike Tammi Kuba of Palo, and Matt Kathy Kuba of Cedar Rapids, and 10 nieces and nephews, Noah, Alex, Isabelle, Sieger, Gwendalyn, Alaina, Jack, Ben, Erin, and Emily.

Tim was born October 17, 1963 in Cedar Rapids. He married Lisa A. Kuba on June 4, 1988 in Cedar Rapids. He was a social services counselor for many years. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed gun shows, hunting, coin collecting, teaching religious education classes at St. Pius, and spending time with his family. His greatest passion was making a difference in the lives of others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Camp Courageous of Iowa.
