Memorial

Laura A. Gallup, 78, of 2945 26th Ave. in Marion died Wednesday March 12, 2008 at St. Lukes Hospital after a short illness. Services at 1:00 PM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The casket will be closed at all times. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Marciene Denny Thompson of DeForest, WI. and Sandra Gallup of Marion, her brothers and sisters; Marriam Robert Gregory, Thomas Marilyn Jones, Michael Ronnie Jones and Kristine Jones. She is also survived by her granddaughters and great grandchildren; Miel Duane Barman of Sun Prairie, WI. and their children, Chad, Drew, Karissa, and Jocelyn and Marnie Tony Cowling of Cross Plains, WI., and their children Kyle and Katie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister at birth.
Laura was born on Jan. 18, 1930 in Keokuk, the daughter of Thomas and Amelia Davis Jones. She married Dale O. Gallup on May 28, 1947 in Davenport. He died in 1991. Laura was a homemaker and a member of Marion American Legion Post 298 Auxiliary.
Laura and Dale had many happy years together and spent much of their time camping. Theirs was a special love. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. Laura's love will live in our hearts forever. Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of St. Lukes in Laura's name.
