Katherine Elizabeth Weeks, 83, of 155 16th Ave SW, formerly of Ottumwa, died Friday, June 29, 2007, in the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following a short illness. Services at 3 PM Monday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Thomas McDermott of St. Ludmila's Catholic Church will officiate. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 2:30 PM on Monday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include three daughters Barbara Weeks and husband Brian Walter of Madison, Wisconsin, Paula Musel and husband Steve of Hastings, Minnesota, and Kathleen Bessey and husband Mike of Winthrop, Iowa, a son Tom Weeks and wife Cheryl of Madison, Wisconsin, a brother Paul Fabritz and wife Maxine of Chandler, Arizona, three sisters Mary Pumphrey of Batavia, Iowa, Betty Hallberg and husband Richard, and Julia Muchow and husband Jack all of Ottumwa, seven grandchildren Ryan, Andrea, Ben, Kristin, Emily, Holly, and Katie, and three great grandchildren Kalen Mason, and Ashlee. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Judith, and a brother Edward.
Katherine was born January 6, 1924 in Chillicothe, Iowa, to William and Elizabeth Roberts Fabritz. She married Everett Weeks on March 8, 1944 in Pensacola, Florida. He died June 27, 1992.
Katherine was a member of St. Ludmila's Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, camping, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
