To Mary Carstensen and her family -- I am sorry I never had the opportunity to meet Kira or get to know her personally. I know she was lucky to have such a loving and caring family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family.
God Bless.

Carstensen family, please accept our sympathy in the loss of Kira. Kira was a classmate of our son Zach, we did not know her or your family personally, but we know of all the struggles that Kira faced in her life. Our prayers are with your family. Kira was an inspiration to the class of 2005 and she will be forever in their hearts.

I first met Kira through the St. Piux X Mock Trial program. I was captivated from the moment I met her by her energy, her charisma and her ability to bring out the best from everyone around her. I also believe that I first appreciated the gifts of God's Grace from the outset of the first meeting and following her across the years. I had never met someone who seemed so filled with Grace and my observations over the years simply led to her being a hero to me. I still firmly believe that Kira was Christ to many others and can't help but admire her accomplishments, all through the gift of Grace she so willingly shared. Every time I saw her my heart was lifted and I was more open to the gentle whispers of God. My sincere condolences to Kira's friends and family. And my since thanks for her time here with us. She still walks in Grace.

Mary, John, Pete, and Lura:
Kira was a little princess to me. I will always remember her sitting on my lap at GE CAPITAL, opening my desk drawers looking for all that candy I kept in there. Of course, I would tell her to help herself to anything. I, then became "THE CANDY LADY" to Kira. A ver fun memory for me ;- She was just a vivacious, fun little 5 year old at that time. God took her on a long, difficult journey not long after that. She never left our thoughts and prayers. Tony and I are very fond of all of you. Kira is out of her pain and suffering and enjoying eternal life. May God Bless you and help you through this difficult time.

My thoughts are with all of you...Mary, our paths only crossed for a short time but you were an amazing inspiration to me. Your strength, courage and laughter were contagious. You and your family quickly adopted Kurt and I, and our dogs. The gilrs did such a great job dog sitting while we went out of town for the weekend or on vacation. Kira was always such a ray of sunshine to be around and she was always herself despite her illness. She is an amazing girl and her spirit will always be right there with you. Through the years we have lost touch but I always wondered how the Carstensen's were doing. You are an incredable strong family and I know you will celebrate her life everyday. Please take care and Kira will always have a place in my heart!

John and Mary,
I was so sorry to have read about Kira. I only met her a couple of times when you brought her into the store, John, but what a wonderful person! I know from what you told me that she had gone through so much and you could tell just how much you loved her and how proud you were of her. My prayers are with you and your family.
Most sincerely,
Gary Lacock
