Iva "Pearl" Ross 84, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care Center, died there Saturday, April 7, 2007, following a long illness. Services at 3 PM Tuesday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Monday and at the chapel after 2:30 PM on Tuesday.
Survivors include two sons William Ross and wife Myrtle of Cedar Rapids, and Leslie Ross of Denmark, Iowa, two daughters Martha Longoria and husband Jim and Deborah Solecki all of Cedar Rapids, a sister Lucille Webb of Walker, seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers and one sister.
Pearl was born February 7, 1923 in Springville, Iowa to Stanton and Lydia Mann Campbell. She married Fay I. Ross on June 1, 1947 in Cedar Rapids. He died July 9, 1996. Pearl worked in assembly at Collins Radio during WW II, and later in the laundry department at Mercy Medical Center for 12 years. She enjoyed playing bingo, flower gardening, reading, her pets, and was an avid Cubs fan.
