Gary Carnahan, 64, of 5010 East Road SW, died of cancer at home, Thursday, July 21, 2006. Services: 1 p.m. Sunday at Turner West Funeral Home by the Rev. Rick Gail of First Assembly of God. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation: After 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Sue; four sons, Brian Denise Carnahan of Cedar Rapids, Michael Kim Carnahan of Timberville, VA, Patrick Erin Carnahan of Cedar Rapids, and Robert Melissa Carnahan of Ely; two step-daughters, Jacqueline Paul Bayer of St. Louis, MO, and Traci Carkhuff of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Carroll Mary Carnahan and William Carol Carnahan, all of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Anita Sam Dillon of Wichita, KS; 11 grandchildren; and 5 step-grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

Gary was born March 21, 1942 in Ottumwa to Harold and Aletha Sanders Carnahan. He owned Rocket Auto for over 20 years. Gary will be remembered as a lifetime owner, collector, builder, and racer of Oldsmobiles. He had his own country rock band, the County Linemen. He loved to go dancing.
