Dennis L. Oldorf
The Oldorf Family, I cannot express the sorrow I felt as I heard of Dennis passing. We all have lost a great man, father, husband, son, brother, papa and community leader. His laughter, quick wit and most of all his compassion for others will truely be missed, however it will never be forgotton.

I was one of the first independent contractors to work for Lil Drug Store when it opened. I was a single parent wanting to spend as much time as I could with my preschool son. I appreciated this job and remember Mr. Oldorf as a fair and pleasant man. My sincere sympathies go out to you and your family. Alberta

To Dennis Oldorf's family: Dennis was a fine gentleman. I was introduced to Dennis by Arlon Berkhof, and each time I saw Dennis thereafter we had enjoyable conversations and I learned about his Lil' Drug Store Products. I knew about his illness and included him in prayers. Dennis will be missed.

Dennis was one of the most remarkable people I've ever known...a man of wonderful contrasts. He was brilliant, yet self-effacing...tough, but tenderly compassionate...world-wise, albeit deeply religious...serious in his considerations, at the same time child-like in his joy. What to me was MOST remarkable about Dennis was his friendship...a dogged, relentless friendship that over time blurred the distinctions between comrade and kin. I loved Dennis and will miss him a lot, but I am honored and grateful that he and Donna have been a part of my life for the past twenty-five years.

Dear Donna, Forbes, Susie and Family, My sincerest condolences. Dennis will be missed. I am very grateful for the impact he made on my family's life and I am certain his kindness and generosity provided me with opportunities that have led to the wonderful quality of life I enjoy today. Dennis could sometimes be described as "flinty", although I always experienced him as a person with a hearty sense of humor, but underneath it all was a kind and caring heart. Dennis will live on in fond memories whether we are on the golf course or making a business transaction. I hope to emulate his gracious qualities in my life journey. We are extremely thankful to have had the Oldorf family be part of our lives. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you through this time. Warm regards, Jamie Wymer Housley

Dear Donna, Suzy, Forbes and family, Yesterday's visitation was a testament to Dennis and all of you, indicating all the lives you have touched. I know you are all grieving now, and it is such an exhausting experience...full of memories and emotions, tears and laughter, all the things that have been said and all the things left unsaid. It takes time to mend, but I know you will mend. Dennis left behind a wonderful legacy in all of you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We just found out about this unfortunate news upon our return from an overseas trip. My wife Swasti I got to spend some time with Dennis and Donna at the last Christmas dinner organized by Dvaid in Muscatine. Apart from Dennis' great sense of humor and straight forwardness, we both found him to be a very down to earth gentleman. All along I had respected him as a very sharp and intellegent business leader. But since that meeting, which was my wife's first, we both started admiring him for his great personality and a fine human being. It is not a mere luck, but a rare fortune to know a person with such wisdom. Dennis' untimely demise is a great loss! Swasti and I wish his family our deepest condolences. May his soul rest in peace.
