Robert "Bob" Clark Zink, 78, of 2972 Sommerbrook Lane, Marion, died Friday, July 29, 2005, as a result of Alzheimer's disease. Services: 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Marion by the Rev. Melisa Bracht-Wagner. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the church. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Annette; three sons, Alan Diane Zink of Columbia, MD, Scott Melissa Gaston of Chicago, IL, and Bob Kathy Harmon of Cedar Rapids; four daughters, Laurie Zink of Ellicott City, MD,, Holly Mark Penuel of Enterprise, AL; and Dianne Shipler and Judy Weeter, both of Silver Spring, MD; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Scott Bechtel, Matt Tina O'Neal, Esther, Crystal, and Trevor Penuel, Melanie and Fleurette Gaston, and three great grandchildren, Alexis, Micah, and Zion O'Neal.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and four sisters.
Bob was born October 6, 1926 in Cockeysville, MD to Benjamin and Berdie Pearl Sykes Zink. He was in the Unites States Navy from 1943 to 1964 where he was a radio operator for the Chief of Naval Operations. He later worked at Rockwell in the radio room. He married Annette Johnston on March 11, 1981 at Osage Beach, MO.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association or the Humane Society.
