Khalil N. Ziadeh, 73, of 1829 5th Ave. SE died Sat. May 28, 2005 at his home after a long illness. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Wed. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Osterhaus will officiate. Burial at St. George Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 9 PM on Tuesday where there will be a vigil service at 7 PM.
Survivors include his wife, Rose of Cedar Rapids, four daughters, May Akouri, Wafah El-Hakim and Sonia Honien all of Chicago, IL. and Ferial Bearden of Nashville, TN., three sons, Pierre of Overland Park, KS., Ramon and Danny both of Cedar Rapids, three sisters, Janette Maloxus, Renee Feesaunty and Sofie Isaad all of Beirut, Lebanon. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Faris.
Khalil was born on March 15, 1932 in Aien-Romaneh, Lebanon, the son of Neemtallah and Matilda Ziadeh. He married Rose Nassif on Jan. 24, 1958 in Dowra, Lebanon. Khalil was the owner and operator of Ziadeh Construction Co. in Lebanon for 35 years. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Khalil was a very peaceful man; he had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his family and many friends. He will be greatly missed.
