Blanche I. Youngton, 87, a resident of Heritage Nursing & Rehab died there Saturday April 16, 2005 following a long illness. Graveside services: 1:00 P.M. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Parker Knoll will officiate. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Robert Kongismark and wife Evelyn of Cedar Rapids and a daughter, Janice Deaver and husband Keith of Anamosa, 6grandchildren, Scott and Steve Deaver, Bob, Richard, Dave and Crista Kongismark, and 3 step grandchildren, Dan, Mike and Tim Brendes. Also surviving are 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by siblings, William Sewell, Helen Sewell, Charles Sewell, Margaret Sheible and baby Sewell.
Blanche was born June 20, 1917 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Wood Sewell. Blanche worked for Schaeffer's Jewelry, a secretary for Tupperware Distributor, and Armstrong's and JC Penny Department Stores. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling, dancing and the cabin on the Wapsipinican River.
