James R. O'Hara, 61, of 2329 Jomar Ct. SW died Wed. Feb. 16, 2005 at his home after a short illness. Services at 11 AM on Sat. at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Kay Slocum will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday.
Survivors include his wife and best friend, Linda, a son, Brian of Loveland, Colo., a daughter, Erika Benjamin of Arvada, Colo., a step daughter, Michelle Krapfl of Ely, a step son, Michael Robbins of Omaha, NE. and two brothers, Dennis and Michael both of Des Moines. He is also survived by three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim was born on Feb. 17, 1943 in Des Moines, the son of James C. and Lois Beougher O'Hara. He married Linda J. Hansen Robbins on Aug. 29, 2000 in Las Vegas, NV. Jim owned and operated Ernie's Ave. Tavern for several years and most recently was an insurance agent for Peterson's Senior Health Insurance Service. Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of St. Lukes or the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center in Jim's name.
