Memorial

Dale F. Shelton, 81, of 2219 Lauren Drive SW died Tuesday February 7, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, two sons, Mark (Gail) of Kalona and Scott of Cedar Rapids; and a daughter Joan (Robert) Boone of Marion. He is also survived by nine grandchildren Ryland, Annie, Audrey, Sarah, and Nathan Shelton and Andrew (Erin), Stephen, Michael and Katherine Boone.

Dale was born on January 29, 1931 in Des Moines, the son of Claude and Uline Fogg Shelton. He married Elizabeth Ann Clayton on May 23, 1954 in West Des Moines. Dale was the vice president at Erbs Business Machines for over 30 years retiring in 1990. He was a faithful member of the Cedar Valley Bible Church and a volunteer with Betty at Mercy Medical Center for over 20 years. He was a member of the NRA and proudly served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
Dale enjoyed fishing, hunting, yard work and especially the time spent with his beloved family and many friends.

A memorial fund has been established in Dale’s name.
