Faye Ethel Stolba Bridge, 91, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday January 10, 2012 in Northbrook Manor Care Center following a long illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where visitation will be on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ethel is survived by two daughters, Sally (Joseph) Brown and Peggy (Steven) Kray both of Cedar Rapids. Also survived by a brother James (Dorie) Stolba of Cedar Rapids and five grandchildren; Stephanie (John) Gerbig of Stacyville, Amy (Joshua) Katcher of Urbana, Tim (Patricia) Brown of Dysart and James (Lacey) Brown of Mason City, and Katie Kray of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren; Jacob, Melanie, and Kadence Gerbig of Stacyville, Adrianna, Kora, Deni, and Isabelle Katcher of Urbana, Austin Leng, Logan and Kelsey Brown of Dysart and Connor Brown of Mason City. Surviving also are sister-in-laws, Shirley Stolba of Hiawatha, Elsie Lewis and Ruth Dotson of Everett, WA and one brother-in-law, Eugene Bridge of Garfield, WA.

She was preceded in death by her husband LaForest, parents, Wencil and Minnie Stolba and a brother, William Stolba.

(Faye) Ethel was born May 11, 1920 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Wencil and Minnie (Volz) Stolba. On May 9, 1945 in Roswell, NM she married LaForest M. Bridge. Following LaForest’s discharge they returned to Cedar Rapids. Prior to motherhood she worked at Peter Pan Bakery. She “retired” to raise her family and help raise others by doing childcare for many years. She also enjoyed canning and preserving fruit from her garden along with crocheting and embroidery.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Hospice of St Luke’s Hospital, Grace Brethren Church and Camp Courageous
