To Mark, Lonnie, Carolyn, Steph and Butch. I only met your Dad once and he was jogging from Cedar Rapids to Solon and back on a bet and he was way ahead of the other guy. We offered him a ride but he wouldn't take it. That was before we knew he was racing. I really thought a lot of him for having the determination to do something like that. He could have taken the ride and the other guy was so far back he never would have known. That told me a lot about your Dad's character. Growing up with you guys I saw the same things in you that I saw in your Dad that day. I am so sorry for your loss. I've lost people in my life, but I don't even want to imagine what it would feel like to lose my Dad. I was glad to see your Dad was a member of St. Ludmila Catholic Church. I work at a Church and Know, God does exist. Rest assured there is a better place to go on to. I pray you all find comfort and peace in the fact that your Dad is in a better place. I'm sorry I can't make it to the funeral tomorrow but my thoughts and prayers will be. God bless you all.
