My deepest condolences to the family. I enjoyed talking with Darrell at A-1 about vintage airplanes and admired his accomplishments in life. I was proud to consider him a friend.

Patricia and I were so saddened when Marty called to tell us of Uncle Darrell's passing. As we talked on the phone I recalled memories of our family get togethers, shared stories and Darrell's quick wit that brought laughter but also made you think. His sharp business advice changed my life and I will always be grateful. A mans success in life is not measured by what he has, but what he has given. Uncle Darrell was extremely successful!

I very much enjoyed working with Darrell over the last few years. He had an excellent sense of humor and a very thoughtful approach to whatever we were working on.

Dear Aunt Shirley, Gary, Doug and families, I was so sad to hear of Uncle Darrell's passing.I had just been reminiscing with Ann how he and Uncle Johnny had served so proudly during the war. I was wishing that Darrell could have accompanied Johnny to Washington DC on Aug.17, especially since that is Darrell's birthday. I never forget his birhtday even tho I don't usually send a card.(there is a story behind that one) I enjoyed so many things about my Uncle Darrell, his dry sense of humor and quick wit, the funny childhood stories my mom related(how he filled up her coverall pockets with water). We all liked how Darell liked to treat his family to a delicious meal at the Amana Colonies, and how he so lovingly cared for his dear wife, my Aunt Shirley, making sure all her needs were met. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. My only regret is that we didn't live closer and that we couldn't see more of each other. May all these memories and many more give you peace and comfort. Love, Carla
