Mark, Valerie and family, Jeff was an ordinary boy who touched people in extraordinary ways. His courage, grace, humility, and faith were rare in someone his age. The times I was in your home caring for Jeff I left feeling like I received more than I gave. It was sacred time... time that I will never forget.

Mark and Valerie, My heart goes out to you and your family. I am deeply sorry that you had to give your son, Jeff, back to our Heavenly Father so soon. I remember our times with Jeff in Okinawa and the fun we had watching him at that young tender age. We have some wonderful memories of Jeff and the family from that time we were stationed together. We have watched and read about Jeff trials and have kept him and you in our prayers. What a joy it is to know of our Heavenly Fathers plan for us. Jeff must have been needed for him to go back so soon. What a reunion you will have when you are able to reunite with Jeff. Again. My prayers and thoughts are with you and you family. While I do not know you personally I was touched by the story Rush told about your son. With that I felt to leave you this poem. I took it from the Guardian (UK) newspaper in 1975 while on my mission. It is called, "Somewhere" by Patience Strong. Somewhere there is a cure for every ill; Seek, and you can find it if you will. Somewhere there is an answer to the prayer, That flashes from the darkness of despair. Somewhere there is a meaning to it all; So never doubt nor let your spirits fall. Somewhere there is someone holding you; Trust, and unseen hands will bring you through! May the Lord bless and comfort you. Job 19:23-27

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. (Psalm 116:15) Jeff is precious to the Lord and I pray that he is resting in the arms of the Lord. Skateboarding was one of his passions. My son is a professional skateboarder and he loves the Lord, too. I truly believe that Jeff was expressing the love that the Lord placed in him when he rode his skateboard, played piano, and gave all that he could give. May the Lord comfort the hearts of all of the Hasara family members. I am praying for you.
