Memorial

Dale Lamphier, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cedar Valley Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. Arrangements are entrusted to Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores; children, Laura, Christine, Brenda, and David (Sherry) Lamphier; brother, Darold (Anna) Lamphier; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Reita.

Dale was born March 12, 1933 in Elkport to Clayton and Orpha Lamphier. He married Kay Klar in Grundy Center on June 7, 1958. She died in 1995. He then married Dolores on February 8, 1997 in Northridge, CA. Dale worked for Rocketdyne as a machinest working on the space shuttle program, retiring in 1990. He always said his work was “out of this world”.

Dale will be remembered as big-hearted and generous to all he knew. He will be greatly missed.
