Myrtle Irene Westcott Sedlacek Licht, 99, of Clarence, IA, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, February 15, 2010 at the Clarence Nursing Home.

Services: 11:00 am Friday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Victor Young of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lowden officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:30 am at the chapel on Friday.

Myrtle was born December 29, 1910 in Mt. Vernon, IA to Samuel Alfred and Oleta Litts Westcott. She was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and Cedar Rapids Business College. She married Joseph F. Sedlacek in January 1938 and they lived most of their married life in Cedar Rapids. Joe died in 1980. Myrtle married Martin H. Licht in 1988 and he died in 1995. Myrtle and Mr. Licht made their home at his family farm in Lowden, Iowa and wintered in Mesa, AZ.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents and a stepdaughter-in-law, Linda Licht.

Survivors include a very dear and long time friend Mrs. Gwendolyn Johnson, Amarillo, TX, Gwen’s daughter Jill and her children James and Johnathon also of Amarillo, and Gwen’s son Andrew, his wife Dawn and their son Michael of West Branch, IA. Other survivors include stepsons Don and wife Sharon Licht, Rockford, Illinois, Kenneth and wife Marilyn Licht, San Diego, CA, Dennis and wife Karen Licht of Carmel, IN and Jeffrey Licht of Lowden. Myrtle was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden.
