Peggy J. Steen, 77, of 6 Aloha Dr. in Hiawatha died Sunday Feb. 7, 2010 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy of cancer. Services at 10:00 AM on Thursday at First Assembly of God. Rev. Don McGarvey will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur and four sons, Dennis (Sheryl) of Cedar Rapids, Terry (Karen) of Tampa, Florida, Craig (Chris) of Ankeny and Neil (Merrilee) of Mt. Vernon and one brother Richard (Linda) Friend of Bloomington, MD. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and preceded in death by her parents.

Peggy was born on Sept. 21, 1932 in Westernport, MD. the daughter of Charles and Edna Pratt Friend. She married Arthur O. Steen on Sept. 13, 1952 in Havre De Grace, MD. Peggy worked at Hy-Vee for over 19 years, retiring in 1992. She was a faithful and devoted member of First Assembly of God where she also served on several women’s groups. Peggy was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her many friends and beloved family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha in Peggy’s name.
