Helen M. Black

I want to let the family know how much I enjoyed Helen. We became friends while she was at Keystone Cedars as was my husband, and I visited her there about once a week. She was such a joy to visit. I also saw her at Hiawatha but she was so miserable by then, we didn't talk much. She did know who I was and always asked about my hubby. She will be missed but I know she is in a better place and glad to be with Robert again. God bless you all. Nancy Nissen

We want Helen's family to know how much we loved her! She was so much fun. This is Mary Jo the Director at Keystone and Helen lived at Keystone Cedars for over 5 years. Our birthdays were 1 day a part and she would even get me a cake some years! She was very thoughtful. Helen was famous for "Rolling out the Barrel." She was not only a fishing Queen and Bridge jumper, but when she came to Keystone she played penny poker, danced and sang her heart out. She could take an ordinary event and really turn it into a whooping and hollaring good time. I know life just got harder on Helen with her poor eyesight and hurting all the time. You probably didn't know this but my husband and Helen had a little thing going on the side too! :) Helen always told me I was lucky she wasn't a few years younger! We will miss her very much. I hope Helen is Happy in Heaven dancing barefoot to Roll out the Barrel. Love, Mary Jo & Devin

Our dear sweet Helen what a joy to know so many wonderful tales she could tell. She was a kind caring person always asking about our families showing concern. She will be in my memories for many years to come. I work in the office at Keystone Cedars. God bless the family as they go through this time of sorry.

Helen was a delight to have for a neighbor. I just loved her to pieces and missed her so much when she moved. Her little Ty and Meka and our little Gidget were buddies and now playing in puppy heaven. We also had the privilege of Bob and her in our lives before Bob passed on. She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her, but know when we visited her on our trip back this past fall she was very miserable. To her family we extend our deepest sympathy. God Bless you All John, Dee McDonough and Meka Naples, Fl

I just wanted to say that I made a mistake on our first part for Helens condolences. Meka is still very much alive and with us. It is Gidget and Ty that are playing in puppy heaven. Again we are sorry for your loss. Love to all Dee McDonough

Helen and Bob were not the kind of people you ever forgot. In the seventies when I was a Prudential Insurance Agent, I found myself in their home quite often. I remember the Christmas season and Helen would make a wonderful Fruit Cake..which can't be said for many. Bob, made a lovely clock so that I might give it as a gift. We lost contact of each other as time sometimes does that. But, memories are always with us. I wish each of you a wonderful memory as you say your goodbyes. Sincere sympathy, Kathy McArtor

I just wanted to reach out from down here in Kentucky and let you all know how wonderful it was to have Dad's cabin next to Helen and Bob's for all those years. I can picture Helen sitting on her dock with her fish pole in, and she never complained if I jumped off our dock or made noise; she just wanted that pole in the water! Bob would call me "Cinder" and Helen would get a kick out of that. When I think of my times at the cabin, I can't help but think of Helen, and those days next to their dark red weekend home. I received a wonderful letter from her in the early 2000's; unfortunately I lost touch due to our moving. I will miss her and always think fondly of her; she was special.
