Everett E. "Rick" Casteel
Kristi and family, we go back so many years. We were so sorry to hear about Rick's death. But we know that Rick and your whole family are a faith family and know that he is in Heaven right where he is suppose to be. Just think -- he and our Matthew our continuing their conversations up in Heaven. We are praying for you and the family at this time of your grief. Even tho we knew this would happen, it is still hard.

To Rick's Family: During a crisis in my life 12 years ago, I was referred to Rick for counseling by a pastor from ROL. Rick saw me through it and helped me to understand what God's expectations are for a man. In our sessions, Rick would often refer to you (Kristi) and his children as a source of strength and that he was very fortunate. I did not know Rick was ill and am saddened he is no longer here but, we do know he has gone home to Glory. Blessings to Kristi and your family. Christopher Dolan

Stephen and I were sad to hear of Rick's passing. He was an amazing man, a healing influence and a mentor to Stephen-an example of all a husband and father can and should be. He left his fingerprints on our family and so many others and our daughter will know his name. We are with you in thought and prayer during this painful time and are grateful for his legacy of healing and integrity, of being united with Christ in His suffering and now in His glory.

Kristi, Josh, Naomi, Rebekah and family, Laura and I send our thoughts and prayers during your time of great loss. It was good to see Rick at the benefit last October. He was the reason that I joined the board of directors at Keys To Living in 1988, and I told him so at the benefit. He had such a ministry in this area that I'm sure the Lord thanked him when He met him in heaven. We will be praying for your family's time of grief but also for your continued ministry. Al

Kristi and family: After reading Naomi's email Thursday afternoon, my first thought was 'What a way to go!' How gracious God is to have a very difficult time be celebrated and joyous. Kristi, you will never know how instrumental you and Rick were many years ago when your counsel was greatly needed. May God continue to pour out His peace and love to you and your family during this time.

To all the Castell family: I am saddened to hear of your loss. Remember you all from Maranatha and ROL. Even though I am not a man, was really impressed with Rick's passion to have men live a godly life. I appreciate your counseling ministry which God used in mighty ways to heal and change me.

It takes a great man to be a good listener and that was Rick. And he was so much more. Rick talked the talk exceptionally well and he also had the guts to walk the walk...and he walked it with the Lord by his side. This was a man who was a marvelous example of Cristian manhood, who has now left a legacy at All Saints (and in our hearts) and who will not soon be forgotten by those of us who were damn lucky enough to have known him. Kristi and family, please know that we love you and are mourning with you. And yes, we will also be celebrating with you, for it was a life well lived and your husband, father, brother & son will soon be hearing the words "well done my good and faithful servant"! And that's what it's all about. :)

If there is Anything I can do for you or your family, please let me know. The last time I ran into Rick & you, Rick had just had survived his brain bleed. I guess the Lord needed him to come home, because Rick's work for the Lord was finished. Again, contact me if there is anything I can do. With my love & prayers, Wendy Ransford

Kristi and family - I am so sorry to hear about Rick's illness and death. When we were in seminary I worked for Rick part-time. He was kind, gentle and generous. I enjoyed sharing life stories and time working with him. I will always remember driving the old mail truck painted orange that served as the company vehicle. Rick's passing leaves a gap for many people he loved. May God fill you will his grace and mercy as you grieve.

Dear Kristi and family: Joyce Harris was a fellow student and I, Gordon Harris, was Rick's professor of Old Testament. I rembered Riok immediately when I saw the obituary in the Argus Leader newsletter. We had nothing but respect for him at North American Baptist Seminary (Now Sioux Falls Seminary). I joined the army as a chaplain myself but retained a close friendship with Rick. I regret that I did not get to see him before his death. We had nothing but the highest respect for Rick as a person, counselor, and servant of God. You can celebrate the impact he had on fellow students and faculty. His influence will not be known fully until we all join him in heaven. Joyce and J. Gordon Harris, Sioux Falls Seminary

Dear Kristi & Family, I am so sorry to hear of Rick's passing. I remember his beautiful singing voice at Maranatha. Also I think of a past time when Dick & I brought a trunk load of tile to your home in Clinton.( I think it was Clinton?) I know when Rick left this life he was immediately in the presence of our Lord Jesus. God Bless You at help you at this difficult time.
