Jeanne and Family, I am very sorry for your loss. Fred was a bowling friend of my father Ray, who died in 1972. I met him on an Iowa Ski Club Thanksgiving trip to Breckenridge, Colorado in 1973. He was extremely helpful to the tour bus driver as we navigated our way to Arapahoe and Loveland Basin. They were the only areas with snow! All of us younger, single guys looked up to him and admired the fact that he was an active skier at his age. I wanted to be like him as I aged! He advised me to "Move your ass out to Colorado if you like skiing so much." I did in January of 1976 and lived there for 7 years. I ski in Colorado or Utah several times every year and will be skiing at Snowmass on my 60th birthday on February 8th with my 2 children for the first time! In the short time that I knew Fred, he made quite an impression on me and helped to change the course of my life! I used to think of him on most ski trips, and would smile at the memories. He had charisma and brutal honesty about life. I never saw him again. Such is life. I will be thinking of him at Snowmass and will toast him. What a great life he lived!

Sig, Marsha, Jeanne and the extended Bjornson family, Esther and I were deeply saddened to learn of Fred's passing. Please accept our condolences. We first met Fred about 10 years ago in Colorado while visiting Sig and Marsha. It was very clear from the first moments how much Fred ejoyed life and how proud he was of Sig. It was amazing to watch them. Whether they were debating politics (WWIII??), needling each other's errant golf shots or Fred as he sang "Mr Sandman" whenever a ball landed in a sand trap, it was obvious they both were loving every moment. I was envious of their relationship. Knowing how difficult these last weeks were for Fred, it is comforting to know he is now at peace. God bless Fred. Don & Esther Churchman

Sig and Family, I remember the first time I met Fred. I was in the triangle park across from your house with Dan Linge. We had found a golf club laying in the grass. Dan thought it might be yours. We started to walk it over and your Dad walked out into the yard. I didn't really know you then, but I asked your Dad if it might be his Sons'. He said he thought it was and asked where we/I found it. When I told him the park, he said "it must have been after a bad shot." I did not know what he meant at the time, but after getting to know you and playing with you I think I understood. ;-) Remember the great times Sig, and our condolences to you and your entire family. Others have commented on Fred's open smile and his enthusiasm. I must echo that thought. I didn't see him often, but he was always a best friend and a bright light. I will miss him. Jerry Seidl

I am so sorry for your unexpected loss. I've known Fred and the Bjornson family most of my life and can attest this is a loss to the entire community. With wonderful people surrounding him, Fred brought together so many things - he made things happen and we can all only hope to live such full lives. Fred, I ran around your house when I was little, hide-in-go-seek in the basement. I worked in your office when I was in high school. My undergrad graduation ceremonies were held at your condo in Keystone. Let nothing dim the light that shines from within - Maya Angelou I thank you for your light. We honor your life. To the Bjornson family I send my love and warmth in your time of grief.

Dear Jeanne and family, We are so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. He was a good man and a good friend to us for many years. As we remember him, we think of his wit and his great outlook on life. We still have the caricatures done by Erik at more than one insurance convention. Fred was always fun to be with and he will be missed by all of us who had the good fortune to call him friend. With love and prayers, Larry and Pat Kennedy and family

Sig & Family, Please accept my condolences on the loss of your father. I know losing a loved like this leaves a hole that will never be filled. It's been many years since we were classmates and neighbors on Forest Drive. I hope your practice is going well in Colorado and maybe sometime our paths will cross again, possibly on the ski slopes. Again, I'm sorry for your loss.
