Larry L Baker, 70, of 2027 Sunland Dr. SE died peacefully on Monday January 25, 2010 at his home. Services at 11:00 AM on Friday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church where there will also be military rites. Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday.

Survivors include his wife, Marge, two daughters, Anna Baker and her significant other, Daniel Greene Smith of Marion and Carey (Aaron) Bewyer of Urbandale. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Eadie, Julian, Brendan and Leah. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Ronald, and sister, Shirley.

Larry was born on June 1, 1939 in Fairmont, Minnesota, the son of Raymond and Agnes Johnson Baker. He Married Marge L. Ramsdell on May 22, 1965 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Larry was the senior territory manager for H.B. Fuller Company and retired from there after 35 years of service.

He was past president of the Professional Sales Association, Optimist Club as well as proudly serving in the Army. Larry enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and he was an avid sportsman. He treasured time spent with his friends, family and especially his grandchildren. Larry understood the word honor and lived in such a way as to show what it meant. There will be a perpetual hole in that part of the world that Larry so beautifully filled.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church or the American Red Cross for Haiti relief.
