Memorial
Daren F. Klosterman, 46, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in Poolesville, Maryland from injuries in a motorcycle accident.
Services: 1:00 PM Monday, January 25, 2010 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Deacon Jim Burger officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 pm Sunday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and from 11:30 until service time at the chapel on Monday.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; Daughters, Danielle & Devan Klosterman; Parents, Bill and Ginny Klosterman; Brother, Bill Klosterman, Sister, Kellie Klosterman Sauser; Step grandmother, Anna Harris; Uncle, Rex Sparks; Aunt, Patty Sparks; Cousins, Sam and Sarah Sparks; and other aunts and uncles; and Buster King, his faithful companion.
Daren was preceded in death by his brother, Derek Klosterman, grandparents, Lew & Hazel Klosterman, Noema Colyer and John B. Harris.
Daren was born in Cedar Rapids on November 30, 1963. Daren loved family, riding motorcycles, boating, skiing, riding snowmobiles, deep-sea fishing, Nascar, as well as a deep love of music. Daren always lived life to the fullest regardless of what he was doing. Daren was very proud to be a 4th generation Union carpenter. One of his many local projects was the Cedar Memorial Crematorium. Daren worked as a project superintendent for healthcare construction firms. Daren supervised the construction of various healthcare facilities and hospitals in IA, WI, MN, OH, IN, TN, MI and IL. The pinnacle of Daren’s career was his current project, the Walter Reed Naval Hospital located in Bethesda, Maryland. Daren never forgot to show his appreciation for the hard work of those that worked with him by sharing his love of cooking and barbequing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given towards his daughters’ college educations.
