L. Viola Holliday, 84, of 1056 H Ave. NW died Wednesday January 13, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center. Services at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 10:00 AM on Friday. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a son, David (Mary) of Cedar Rapids, two daughters, Donna (Jerry) Hare of Hideaway, Texas, Deb (Ed Dudley) Kloos of Central City, and four sisters, Dorothy, Doris, Mary and Shirley. She is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and one brother.

Viola was born on March 19, 1925 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William and Ora Kennedy Kidder. She married Carrol D. Holliday on Sept. 30, 1945 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 2003. Viola worked at M.N.B and Armstrong’s Dept. Store in housekeeping as well as a day care provider for many years. She was a member of the First Church of the Open Bible. Viola enjoyed gardening, listening to music and especially time spent with her beloved family. A memorial fund has been established in Viola’s name.
