Gladys Ruth (Garnier) Bock
My sincere condolences to all of you on your loss. My father passed away just a few days before Gladys and my mother passed away in December of 2008 so there are several former neighbors of 30th Street SE reunited. I have many fond memories of spending time at the Bock house. Always and only addressed as "Mrs. Bock," Gladys was very kind and generous to the Gilbert family. May her memory be a blessing.

All of us at the Indian Creek Nature Center were saddened to learn of Gladys' death. She was a grand lady. We have many pleasant memories of Gladys and the Bock Family and she was a wonderful volunteer serving on the Board and Guild. I will never forget Gladys being at the Nature Center on a dark rainy night many years ago when we held Halloween Hikes. Gladys was selling plastic bats to participants! She and Carl were very good to the Patterson family and are the Godparents of our chldren, Nancy and Dan Patterson. They were wonderful influences on our children and all the children who visit the Nature Center. On Gladys' 90th birthday Bill, Bruce and Brian set up the Gladys Bock Children's Fund at the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation. It is an endowed fund that creates an eternal stream of annual income to the Nature Center. We use this money to help host groups of children and support children's programs. We will add memorial money to this fund.

Hello all - I am so sorry about your loss. Your mother was such a kind lady and also, always so classy. She was a great supporter of our music at First Congregational when I served there (and of course, even before at Washington HS!) and she will be missed. My sincerest thoughts to you all at this sad time. Rich

Hello cousins, Her 3 sons, I am sorry for your loss. It was always so great when I saw her at the Nature Center when I had a group of students. Now I read about her Children's Fund. Wow!
