Arthur Daniel Swarzentruber

All of us at the Nature Center were saddened to learn of Art's death. Our relationship with him over many decades brought plenty of pleasant memories. You are in our thoughts. Many years ago Art gave us his Oliver tractor. We use it constantly for work in prairie restoration. He also let us bring children to his pond to learn fishing....and he usually came down to help untangle fishing lines. He was a grand man. Rich

We are very sorry to hear of Art's passing. We have so many fond memories of him. Knowing him through Vigortone was the best memories. My Dad (Irvin Krug) couldn't speak highly enough of him as we too. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time.

Art will be missed by many who were privileged to have met him and enjoy his company. Jerry Scheffert worked for Vigortone and together we admired Art and Dannie so much. Dick, Jerry and I especially enoyed your friendship over the years. Jerry passed on last month and I know he would have wanted to be with you to tell you how he felt if he were here. I also wanted you to know how sorry I am for your loss.

Karol and family, The obituary for Art was such a wonderful tribute. I only knew Art and Dannie at Village Ridge, but they both impressed me with their gracious ways. Your dad's smile will be missed....he flashed that wonderful grin to Mom and me as we walked into the dining room every day, and no matter how much trouble Mom was having walking she always smiled back. Who could resist? He had a gentle charm and was truly a joy to know. He obviously had a happy life, and his optimism continued to influence even in the later stages of life...that's rare! I hope your memories of him give you great comfort. Susan

Dearest Family. What a wonderful man Uncle Art was and he touched so many lives-more than I ever realized. He will be truly missed. I only wish I could make it down for the service and share all the great memories. My thoughts will be with you tomorrow, as always. Love, Alicia & family

I feel I must express my gratitude and admiration for the life of the late Arthur Swarzentruber. My experiences with Art began in a business relationship. As our two companies grew along, I came to appreciate his wisdom, his thoughtful embrace of new ideas, his generosity of spirit, and his personal warmth and cheerfulness. These qualities can be contagious, and I also remember with great fondness the members of his family and his loyal staff.

To my "Artie Boy," the best Uncle a girl ever had. Those sled rides on your back at Beaver Park, tying us kids to trees, standing on your head so the change (which you jingled when you walked) would fall out of your pockets for us to fight over, the Christmas's, the cabin all wonderful memories.
