Robert C. Tilden
Bob was the kind of lawyer that we don't see much anymore. He practiced with understated grace, style and substance. He was kind and encouraging to young lawyers finding their way. And he was the same way on the golf course. He had a beautiful, graceful swing that was the envy of all who saw it. He was a fine man (I know my father thought of him the same way) and I'm grateful I had a chance to know him in two different forums. -- Susan Harman

Dear M. J. & family: It hasn't been all that long ago that I was receiving your very nice Phone call Re: Virginia and I am sad now to be sending you my condolences to you in your great loss of Bob. I am sorry that I did not get to know you and your family in the way that Virginia knew you, she always thought so much of you and your family. I did have the pleasure of playing a couple rounds of golf with Bob and his good friend Hal Haines and I really enjoyed that very much. I wish you and your family the very best as you go on through life without the pleasure of having your Husband and the Father of your children with you but your memories will surely help you through this. My best regard to all of you! Bob Frink

Bob was a gifted lawyer, was hard-working, and a very fair-minded man. Dave Elderkin aptly called him "A velvet glove, with an iron fist". He will be missed, and remembered too.
